Mural with Anak Tangguh
This project commenced on 25 February 2010 which I hope to end 28 March 2010, begins with a discussion with the volunteers of the foundation, after we agree and then proceed with the presentation of the project plan will be murals that adorn the walls of the foundation in front of the entrance. Seeing the enthusiasm of the children, we soon may be headed to the next stage is starting to make and formulate what the theme will be done later.
This mural project ideas as ideas that can be realized, because once I offered to create a mural with some friends and the community of artists who still want to get down to the road for work and for the children of their foundation was greeted enthusiastically because some children there are very interested in art a way of painting, so a little creativity they have distribution outside of drawing classes in general.
For myself there is the essence of which can be used as self-criticism, as an artist who usually works very individual way and at times produced work that seemed arrogant, and I also see that trend in some event that ever happened in Bali, sometimes by artists who participate in an event pubic art, outside the gallery walls, less able to absorb and respond to the environment in which the work will be realized, most simply moved from the studio work or gallery into the public space. With this project I wanted to feel how a collective work with children who tends to make and say what was in their hearts, absorb what they want and then be jointly visualizing it.
Collectivity that is to be emphasized in this project, because with today's development progress tends more individual people in everything, while the old base and values of our culture full of spirit, mutual cooperation, to share the challenges the future. As with the spirit of building a foundation, they provide additional education free for rural children who are less fortunate can enter schools with a good quality of education, while public schools are really the hope, the system is still centralized curriculum and with standards that teachers have no concept of educating tends not to provide solutions to meet the challenges of the future, while the private schools that the system is very capitalistic, but with quality educators who are good will be expensive because the school used the fields of business, let alone the number of international schools which of course is very expensive and can only be reached by the children of expats only. If the problem continues like that of course the local kids who will be the successor generation will be the guests of their own home, which should all children have equal learning opportunities and I am also sure they all have the same intelligence to prepare for the challenges and competition period come. With the theme of this mural project is related to cheap but quality education, strong nation begins with a strong generation can learn from anywhere, grass, neighbors, fields, fields, houses and so on.
